Dear Members and Friends of Foothills:

Yes! is such a powerful word. When we receive our acceptance letter to college, or a new job, a promotion, or the Dr’s smile saying “Yes! you are pregnant” we feel a powerful affirmation that we are moving in the right direction. The most powerful affirmation, however, is God’s Yes! to us.

Once again, we are beginning our Stewardship Season, asking you to prayerfully consider your contribution of Time and Talent for the life of the church. What are you willing to say “Yes!” to? Are you able to make a sustaining gift to the work of the church? Are you able to commit to serve on one of our Boards and Committees? Are you able to work on a short term taskforce? Do you want to study more, or be involved in a prayer group? Is mission outreach your thing?

I am a firm believer that we have all the talent and resources to do what we need to do as a church if everyone will just say Yes! to what they most desire and enjoy. Giving is not meant to be a heavy burden but an act of joy.

We have been blessed in many ways at Foothills. We have gifts in abundance that are evident in our church life reflecting learning, music, fellowship, and contributions from many individual talents that enrich our community of faith.

Please read the materials accompanying this letter. Decide what you can do, and then do it with a grateful heart. Blessed by God we will be blessed and be a blessing to others.
